Well I am getting seriously tired of having to pee all the time. Please tell me that that goes away.........could be all the herbal tea, but I don't think I am drinking much more than normal.

I know how you feel. I have to drink a lot of water per my doctor and I end up with the same problem. However, I have to say it doesn't seem as bad now or maybe I am just getting used to it.

.. understand. 65 yo bladder, asthma drugs increase pee trips, drink lots, tea seems to be worse that water or coffee.

All I can say Nicholaix is that I'm right there with you. I spent all afternoon today driving my family around town and had to go to the bathroom every stop we made. It gets to you but what can you do, right?

Hey, running to the bathroom burns extra calories!

laughing!!! I figure each time is an extra 100 steps if I'm at work, not so far at home LOL

Well the Atkins people forgot to leave that little bit of trivia in the book lol. I will start counting the peepee dance in my exersize journal forthwith.

As long as your still staying hydrated, I would look at it as your body flushing out toxins and excess water weight! All good things! Also the tea your drinking might have a natural diuretic in it?

I believe that tea is a diuretic. I drink about a gallon of water a day. And I was drinking about 4 cups of green tea a day. But I was going all the time. So I cut back on the tea to two cups and now it doesn't seem as bad.

Don't worry about it. Once you hit my age, it won't matter what you drink. You'll start making the trips in the middle of the night regardless.

I was going to the bathroom a lot more when I first started on my program - it's just part of the process. http://www.livestrong.com/article/308167-weight-loss-and-urination/

Definitely not Diabetes, the bugger checks me every 3 months at med checks. Most likely a combination of induction and the tea. (and age , sshhhhh)
Thanks all.

The process of becoming fat adapted and running on ketones instead of glucose for fuel pulls loads of water out of our cells. Something like, each bit of glucose stored in our cells has an equal amount of water attached with it. So when you deplete those stores, the water all flushes out with it, majorly increasing bathroom trips! Keep drinking lots of fluids, it will make the transition easier on the kidneys.

Oh but the good news is that, it doesn't last forever. Not only will your body adjust if you slowly increase your water intake, but that water dump will taper off after the first week or so. =D

Thanks Klaymates, the thought of a light at the end of the tunnel cheers me. I am just about 2 weeks in.

Awesome! It's different for everyone depending on how plentiful their stores were before beginning, but you should see a decrease in bathroom time soon! Sending calm bladder jujus your way.
