I’m 13 (155 cm) and on a 400-800 calorie diet. Is this too little? I keep getting told it is but I’m loosing a lot of weight so I’m quite happy. The side affects aren’t great though

Eating too little can shock your body into expecting less food and actually slow down weight loss. Especially as a growing young person I would not recommend that little.

That sounds like far too little food for a healthy life. You could also look at https://www.nhs.uk/common-health-questions/childrens-health/how-many-calories-do-teenagers-need/ which has links to further information. Good luck.

don't this honestly. when I was 13 even I used to do it. and guess? although I lost a lot of weight, it wasn't sustainable at all. so now I eat around 1400 to 1500 calories healthy food and walk almost everyday or atleast 4 to 5 days a week. all in all, u should try to eat a little bit more food that consists of veg, fruit, protein etc and exercise regularly and you will be fine.

I guess you have to take into account for how long. As long as you are getting good nutrition it doesn't really matter. one thing is when I was younger I dieted at 1000 calories a day and I have to do the same now to lose. 1200 and I maintain or loss is so slow I get impatient and break off the dieting

As you are at a crucial age where you need all the nutrition you can get, my advice would be to not count calories but to avoid carbohydrates/sugar. Eat proper food that doesn't come in a box or a packet and eat as much as you want within a 6 hour eating window. The weight will fall off then stabalise. Foods to eat include: Salads, vegetables, meats, fish, eggs, butter. Do not choose low fat but go for the full fat. Fat does not make you fat, sugar does (bread, pasta, rice, cakes, biscuits, chocolate bars, crisps etc) If you want to look into it the Diet is called KETO. Keep your carb intake to less than 50g Total carbs.

I would have started at 1200 and then reduce it a couple of days. Still effective and keep the weight off in the long run. X
