Spring on the farm and everything here moves into high gear. It sure is busy. Since Jeff cannot do a lot of the stuff he usually does with his broken foot, I got a skid loader lesson yesterday. First assignment--> hauling manure! Tech tip- don't dump a load of manure when the wind is blowing towards you. Second assignment was to move two big square bales from one farm to the other. I was so proud of myself. I didn't run into any equipment or do any damage to any of the buildings! BRAVO! STANDING O! I know there is a certain amount of calories burned while running the skid loader because those darn hand comtrols really make me feel the burn in my arms after a while. It was fun though. I can now drive three of the tractors and the combine. My farm wife resume continues to grow! Marrying a farmer was the best thing that ever happened to me! Thank you God!
I'm actually up a little bit of weight today. I refuse to acknowledge it however. If I don't, maybe it will go away faster. That's gotta be my favorite defense mechanism.
So, today I'm thankful for beautiful weather, a great husband, good health, my family and great friends. Life is good.

Good evening Sherill! You should be starring in a reality show called "The Broken-Footed Farmer's wife". In all the diet and exercise tips I've read on fs, I don't recall ever getting a tip about moving manure! It is so good to see you really happy and learning lots down on the farm. I wish you and your husband a very good night! Hugs!

lol! You know I am gonna get those calories burned any way that I can! Not only that, but I just gotta see the humor in some of this stuff. If I take myself too seriously I just might explode! @mysterious shrinking lady- I put these tips up for everyone to learn from! You just never know when you'll be in a skid loader needing to move manure... I have always lived in the country. I've raised horses, dogs and bees but I gotta tell you that cattle are an entirely different ball game here. I guess that's what makes it fun and exciting.

That is awesome Sherill! My dad was raised on a farm but they had a mule and a plow, LOL. Anyway I have fond memories of visiting his cousins in Georgia and playing on their farms, I found the cows boring but the chickens and the pigs were fun, but hey I was only about 7 or 8. It's a good place to raise a kid I think. I am sure you burned quite a few calories running that equipment... you go girl! Have a great weekend!
