My journey started November 1, 2016. Lost most of my weight then coasted & maintained until November 1, 2021. Then I decided to tackle those last few pounds. Then I stalled for weeks, no movement of the scales. So after much research, I effected a few tweaks...higher daily protein, fewer carbs, 150 to 200 calorie increase daily. And it worked. I've beaten the plateau! Total weight loss overall is 74.8 pounds! Only 20 more pounds to go!!

A calorie increase? Interesting. Was the increase in calories all protein?

Hi Angela. Indeed the increase was protein. Plus a massive decrease in fibre (only 20g in 7 days) whilst maintaining 75% fat. I made a few other changes, too, such as a total elimination of all no carb sweeteners, drinking 1/2 gallon of green tea daily, and decreasing my cheese intake. So...mostly carnivore with lots of meat, fish, bacon, sausage and fat, almost no vegetables.

Thanks for the support & encouragement everyone! It really means a lot! My rationales for living a keto way of life...uncontrolled diabetes, unchecked & steady weight gain, debilitating & daily body pain, high lipid panels, hypothyroidism, daily acid reflux/GERD, hiatal hernia, daily diarrhea...and on 21 different medications (none of which ever fixed any of my health issues). As of today (and the past 5 years), every health issue was resolved except my hypothyroidism, which is still with me...but I went from the highest med dose to now, the lowest med dose. And from 21 meds down to just 1!!! All by eating high fat, extremely low carb, and sorta high protein. It has literally saved my life!

I am so happy you found something to work for you. I wish we could somehow find a way that would help people not get to the horrid spot you were in in the first place.
