Don't look at the big picture either or you will get discouraged. Try not to weigh more than once a week, but if you do weigh daily like some of us, know that your weight will fluctuate every day and remind yourself that it is normal and that its the long term that matters. I always look at my progress every wed. If my weight is down from the previous wed, that is all I care about. Like Paula said, read as much as you can, and figure out what will work for you. If you change something give it at least a month before you give up and try something else because it can take our bodies time to re-adjust so jumping all over isn't good. Good luck, I am sure you will find FS to be wonderful!

Can you imagine helping someone you couldn't stand? Love yourself right now! It can't hurt. Go shopping now and find a few flattering things and just love yourself. You can do this.

First of all you are beautiful!!! and definately look much younger than your age. Welcome to fat secret, I hope that it works for you as it has worked for me. I started at 201.5 pounds and now 3 and a half years I am almost at goal. So it will be a long journey but every obstacle you overcome makes it so work it! Look at the short term goals(this is hard) and don't cut everything out right away because once that stops working what will be left to cut out? Best of luck, if you need any tips or hints we're all here for you!

Just like you I had reached an all-time highest weight. That was 6 months ago, and it seemed impossible after so many attempts to lose weight. I decided to do ONE more attempt. At 42, I was ready to give up. However, I decided to do this, and do it right, and commit myself fully. I told everyone who I could force to listen, and told them my plans. this way I made sure that I would HAVE to commit. Well, as I said, that was 6 months ago. Today I am 90(!) lbs lighter and weigh the same as when I was 17. I still have some way to go, but I am getting there and it is such an amazing journey. Trust me, if I can do this, so can you. Get committed, stick to it, and go go go! :) Life is good!

Ouch! Be gentle with yourself. Would you treat your children or grandchildren as harshly as you appear to treat yourself. Accept yourself for who you are now. Then set mini goals to achieve. Vow to talk positively to and about yourself from this day forward. Looking forward to sharing the journey to the new and improved us!
