backincontrol's Journal, 05 Oct 14

Ok so I have been working on trying to curb my appetite, yesterday I had a healthy omelet, yogurt, 2 cuties, a salad for lunch, and some cucumber. For dinner my hubby made sirloin steaks, and mixed vegetables...But at work I slipped up and had a candy bar, and some jolly rancher fruit chews....I work 9 hour days, so I am trying to get better at taking enough to sustain me without blowing it..my biggest problem is still and has been portion control.. At a meal I tend to end up Eating a mans size meal. Any tips on cutting back, I have ate this way for so long. I know that it is 1 of my biggest problems, even though I am eating healthier selections, I am still having trouble in this area.. which makes those calories add up big time.

If you go on amazon.com, they have a plate that you can use to help you with portions. If you type in "portion control plate" in google you will get many options too. A food scale, measuring cups and spoons are also great tools. It's eye opening how much more we eat then we are supposed to. It takes more time and planning, but measuring out portions is important. Also if you can, buying pre-measured potions can also help. The snacks that are akreadt neasured out can be great once and while.
