Another day...another entry:-). Still going strong. I'm absolutely amazed at the number of calories in the foods I used to eat. I thought I probably took in 1800-2000 calories a day before with splurges at Christmas, etc. Boy, was I wrong! Thought about going to Chili's today for lunch with my parents. I hopped on here to check out my usual order...nothing major...the Old Timer burger and onion straws. No big deal, right? Wrong! That hamburger has 800 calories! I couldn't even find the onion straws listed but if that innocent looking little hamburger is that high, I can only imagine what they would be. I'm trying to learn to eat things that are low in calories and fat. I actually ate an apple today for the first time in...well, I don't remember the last time I ate an apple. And it was actually wonderful:-). Trying lots of new recipes. If I could find a way to choke down some veggies, I'm sure that would make my life easier. The only veggies I eat are: lettuce (don't like it, but I'll eat it), corn (again, don't like it, but I'll eat it), cucumbers and raw potatoes (I don't like them cooked anyway but fried...figures). Also, my blood sugar has been dropping drastically which is a scary thing but I'm so excited about it. Yesterday and today, I noticed that I was not feeling exactly right and getting real shaky before lunch. Both days when I checked, my blood sugar was in the 60's. I know that's lower than it's supposed to get and I'm adjusting my insulin to try and slow the drops...but this is a problem I've never had before...and a problem I love having:-).

I know exactly what you mean! I am shocked now to look at the foods I used to eat at restaurants and see how many calories they are, no wonder I was bigger! You're doing great, keep up the good work!
