Anyone else have family members that still try to give you food like they are doing you a favor?? They say things like “just have a bite” “this won’t hurt you” “it’s really good”

I try to explain that for me food is an addiction but this is not real to them. Well, I’m done trying to be polite. I will not eat the treats constantly brought to me or the left over dinners. Go ahead and make 6 loaves of banana bread and buy Costco cookies and muffins. I will ignore them all. I wish you would help me on this journey but you will not derail me. Last Jan I was climbing towards 300lbs. This Jan I plan to be under 200.

On another note…Good week - stayed on track with balanced 1200 cal diet plus morning and evening walks.

Yup. Growing up my mother was of the "clean your plate" school of thought. One chicken leg (deep fried in Crisco), 2 cups or so of waaaay over boiled veg drowned in butter, 6 slices of bread thickly buttered, mashed potatoes with butter, corn and a good possibility of mac n cheese. That was an average meal for me at 6, 10, 15 etc. Never any dessert. Always a "snack" after school that I'd call a full meal now. I got to where I'd skip breakfast and lunch just to have ROOM for that blasted snack and dinner. The problem with that attitude is A) I've no idea what hungry is, B) No real idea of how/when/why to eat. I. did learn over time to say something like-oh, I'm sorry, I just ate or something similar, and to ask for a sample to take home. If you go out to dinner, eat YOUR amount/type of food and get a doggie bag. There are ways around the idiots who just won't HEAR what you are saying. Willful ignorance.
