what does the waffle batter consist of?

White whole wheat flour, milk, eggs, skyr, baking powder, cinnamon, salt. I saved a recipe on the app…”protein cinnamon waffles”.
|
There are recipes out there that add protein powder but I have a shake after a workout anyway so why waste it in batter?

Cool thanks. I've been thinking of switching things up from my regular oats and almond butter. I really don't like cooking with protein powder anyway, it turns everything chewy and hard to eat. It's a workout just trying to get it swallowed down.

Rick I’m alternating my breakfasts between these waffles, frozen then toasted, with peanut butter (no syrup) and maple and brown sugar steel cut oats (low added sugars) with walnuts and pecans. I try to always have two eggs as well. I’ve never tried any other nut butters but I assume almond butter would be good too…I’ll have to give it a try. I saw another recipe for overnight slow cooker apple cinnamon oatmeal I want to try too.

And yes, I completely prefer a more traditional waffle recipe to adding protein powder. Completely unnecessary when I can make a shake with an electric hand mixer in under two minutes and chug it in 4 seconds lol.

Yea I prefer the shake on the side. It makes it seem like you have more food to eat. Thanks for the link.
