Day 2, and I woke up feeling like I had a rock in my stomach. I ate 800 calories for dinner last night (2 turkey patties with cheese, some condiments and TONS of raw onions and tomatoes) because I was way behind on my calories for the day. Still finished up under 1500. But I had to force myself to eat. That is SO against my instincts, and yet at several times during my yo-yoing life I've "dieted" by starving myself, and lost weight to that infamous "plateau", and managed to go no farther. I know that if it were left up to my instincts I'd either eat too much or too little. Still, intentionally EATING when I'm supposed to be dieting is actually harder than NOT eating. It just doesn't seem right.

However, my blood sugar this morning was 109. 109. My morning blood sugar's NEVER 109. The highest sugar I had yesterday was 120, and that's the upper limit for norm. It was 30 mins after dinner, and I'd had a bit of barbecue sauce on those patties. 30 mins after that it was 97. Considering my norms before doing this were in the 170-200 range (or the "I actually need to be on insulin but I'm nervous about going into the doctor and giving him my real numbers" range), how can things NOT be going well?

I'm choosing to believe that the "bloat" I feel is largely psychosomatic. I do hope that's the case. However, I don't think I want that much food in one sitting again. If I add a meal to the day, I won't hit my belly with so much at once. Sounds reasonable to me.
