Yesterday was my 67th birthday. Two thirds of a century! It was also the day of a major tropical storm which brought some heavy rain and strong winds. My husband had bought tickets to a Judy Collins concert at Tanglewood. Their website said no weather cancellations, so we drove out there (an hour) only to be told that the concert was cancelled. Bummer! We went to the nearby arboretum, where we got in free, and used the facilities, viewed an art show and wandered in the rain around the gardens between downpours. We bought a few nice things in the gift shop, as a birthday washout consolation prize. The drive out was just a rainy day, but the drive back was in heavy weather. No major damage at home, just some small branches down. Today we are expecting the backside circulation of the remnants of the storm bringing another bout of heavy rain. We had one dinner out on Friday, and I baked a Keto cheesecake at home, so I'm up a pound. Not too bad after a birthday. Also, we harvested our peach tree before the storm, so I'm indulging in some beautiful home grown peaches.
