Time to start again...
This epic battle between me and my weight is definitely one that I have been losing for a very long time. Well, really I have just been waving a white flag for the past 5 years. I haven't even fought...I have just been laying down. Laying down and burying my face in the sand.
Well, times are changing. I no longer want to just fantasize about being skinnier, I want to feel better. I want to breath, I want to move, I want to live. Yesterday I was held captive by my weight, but today is different. Today is a day that I can change. Today is a day that I can start fresh. Today is a day that I can begin again.
So my battle plan is changing. And I plan on bringing back up to this fight. My God is first, because I can't do this with out Him. So I need to pray and focus. I need to meditate on this opportunity that he is giving me. I need to fill my heart with his word the way that I fill my body with the toxins of food. I need to put it on my heart to seek the Holy Spirit and His guidance. I need to cast my worries on Him so that He can change me bit by bit. He will be the one to lead me into this battle from now and forever more.
But He is not my only recruit (just the one with the most power and importance). I also bring Planet Fitness, the YMCA, my family, and my friends into this battle with me.
This is not just a desire to be skinnier. It is a desire to be healthier. It is a desire to change. It is a desire to get better. To improve on my weaknesses and recognize some hard truths about myself.
Today, I am SOMEBODY! Today I am taking my head out of the sand. My white flag has been put away. My battle gear is on, my weapons are in hand, and my God is at my back. Today it is about ME. Today is MY DAY!
And today it begins!
