yesterday my husband and i went to the museum of contemporary art to see a frida kahlo exhibit. after wards we went out for tea. he chose a huge chocolate croissant for us to share. that croissant didn't mess up my calories at all. i must not be counting everything somehow. i had chicken, zucchini and mashed potatoes for lunch. then the croissant. then for dinner, mozzarella, basil, tomato salad with balsamic vinaigrette. i had room for a bourbon and several fig newtons. and i wasn't hungry. i thought my weight was down, but i just misremembered what i weighed last time. it's slightly up, but i won't measure for sure until my weigh in tomorrow. for the most part, i am eating much better. more veggies, less carbs (although i do still eat a lot of carbs even if i'm not eating a lot of starches.), more protein. more real food. i get back to exercising in the pool next week when my husband goes back to work.

today it is movies and then out for burgers. i ate my normal breakfast and didn't eat too much at lunch, so i just have to avoid the popcorn and fries with the burger. i'm glad i can still enjoy this weekly date nights of dinner and a movie.

it's a journey, it's not to be perfect. I think the 80/20 rule applies. Just as long as you don't go overboard on the 20!. If you're seeing progress in your lifestyle, that's all that counts.

Totally agree about it being a journey. I'm eating better than I was last month. And will probably be eating better next month than I am today. I'm discovering new foods and prep methods. Finding things that I can easily live without or getting better with portion control with my favorites.

Date nights are important.. relationships are important. Enjoy your time, adjust your eating choices to bring your tracking to an average that fits your plan.
