Saralyn's Journal, 15 Feb 11

I got some new running shoes last weekend. I've been very interested in Chi Running lately and these shoes are supposed to guide you to that style of running.

I tried them on the treadmill yesterday because I still don't want to get them dirty and keep them returnable if I decide they aren't for me. The website told me that there is a transition period and that for your first couple of runs not to run more than a mile. Well, I ran my mile yesterday and ouch. They train you to run more on your mid/fore foot and my calves currently feel like they are on fire. I feel like I was tiptoeing through squishy sand for hours yesterday.

I think I'm going to like the shoes though, I just think it might be a little difficult to train my body to instinctively run differently.

They are some good looking shoes though

Have you seen those "shoes" that look like socks?? They have the toes cut out and everything!! Crazy! LOL And you do have to give any new pair of sneekers a chance - I just got a new pair, and at first they were tight in some spots, but have since loosened up.
