Deborahg382's Journal, 29 Apr 14

I got stuck for 3 months and didn't lose anything. NO MATTER what I tried. Then I discovered intermittent fasting. And I also discovered the "fat fast". Wow, what a difference those two things have made. I am down 36.2 lbs as of today. I am so excited.

I was able to drop 8.8 lbs this month and 10.6 lbs last month. I hope for another good month. Fasting isn't easy in itself, but the idea is easy, fast for an extended period of time and lose some weight. I'm sold.

I'm wearing a ring on my hand I couldn't wear for two years, and I am wearing a bra with under-wire, couldn't wear those either before. And I am wearing my size 15 JEANS. No its not a small size, but I was wearing elastic pants for two years. I do not know what size I was before, I refused to buy anything above 15. So the fact that I can wear them is a testament to my having lost some weight. I guess not losing for three months lead me here, and I have no regrets about that!!

Yes, please describe. I get stuck for weeks, too. And then I start to creep up. Bugs the heck out of me.

Go ahead, tell them about your fast! It will give the non losers something to shoot for. Everyone hates it when the weight starts to creep back up. It is best to put the brakes on now before the damage is done. I'm wearing a 14 now and they fit nice. No muffin top.

Awesome Results! I am a firm believer in IF. I use 16/8 IF now, but have had good success with 5/2 IF as well. 16/8 just fits my lifestyle way better. I can get up, run the dogs, have coffee and do chores and work-outs until 2 pm. Then I eat all of my daily calories between 2 pm and 10 pm. Its a method that's simple and easy to follow.

Okay my regular fasts is a 36 hour window of only 500 calories of high fat food. OR you can do a straight water fast for 36 hours..I've done both. A "fat fast" is a five day diet of 1000 calories of really high fat: Meal 1: Fat coffee: 1 tablespoon of Heavy whipping cream, w/ 1 tblspn of coconut oil That's 170 calories and zero carbs Meal 2: 1 large boiled egg/ deviled with 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise 104 calories Meal 3: 1/2 ounce Macadamia nuts w/ 1/2 ounce regular cream cheese 203 calories Meal 4: Havarti cheese wrapped around 1 bacon 168 calories Meal 5: Tuna 1 ounce w/ 2 teaspoon mayo 120 calories total almost 800 calories. Meal 6; Can repeat any of the above (you have 200 calories left to fill.) You can check out my daily menu to see what I eat on 500 calorie days.. also my 1000 calorie days. The rest is just fast, feast, fast, feast. Hope that helps.. THANKS SO MUCH FOR ALL THE COMMENTS AND SUPPORT! I AM VERY ENCOURAGED BY IT.

I am glad for you and your weight loss. I know it is hard but so well worth it. I have been back on my diet on and off for about 6 months now. I was wondering about the fasting does it really help and do you think the weight stays off after a fast. I read on another journal that if you fast for 12 hours at a time that it helps. I was thinking about doing that.
