It's 2021, and what a year we have all lived through. I feel that the whole world has been strangely unified through this surreal pandemic, though of course it has affected people differently.

I have been very lucky. Being on a small island who contained the virus fairly early on, we have not had many restrictions other than the borders being closed. I feel for my friends and family in the UK, and my friends further afield all over the world.

I of course, came into this year thinking that I would like to lose weight this year. I haven't made this a new years resolution though - I'd like to focus elsewhere. I have decided on a few things I'd like to do this year. This includes:
- Starting up learning Russian again. I stopped this after feeling demotivated, but I've downloaded the app Babbel and hope to keep this up.
- Starting a 'line a day' journal. I am intrigued by this idea, and feel that the thought process behind choosing just one line to write a day will help me to focus on what I really would like to remember about that day.
- Prepping lunches for the week. Me and my husband did this a couple of years ago, it was a very good habit and I'm not sure why we stopped. It was mostly veg in lunches, it really took the stress out of it and meant we ate plenty of vegetables every day.



These are the three main things I'd like to make into habits this year.

Of course I'm also going to continue to count my calories. I'm pretty good at going to the gym regularly, but I really need to focus on getting the calorie deficit back. I think it's important to try and get inspiration from wherever I can, and there are plenty of amazing people on this app who inspire me every day!
