I'm up 3 pounds. I don't get it!! I have been calorie deficit for the last two weeks. Frustrating. I found a pattern in my food diary. Seems like Wed I crave more fat & have a higher caloric intake. So odd. I am thinking it has to do with working out.

Exercise can cause muscles to retain water to help them heal, which can show on the scale as a temporary gain. I went on a long bike ride and was up 4 pounds the next day. It could also be sodium or a whole bunch of other factors effecting the scale. If you eat too much sodium one day and don't drink enough water, the scale may go up. Just stick with it and the scale will eventually catch up.

Thanks! That is a great point. I do eat a lot of salt through the day.

Its great to be able to look back thru-out the weeks to review our actions & adjust accordingly. I'm finding that's a big help for me in determining what is going on & what to do next. It's nice also to read others journals...I usually learn something to benefit me in reaching my goals. Such as gaining 4 lbs...could be from several things not related to food intake. Good to know...gaining 4lbs & not knowing why would drive me crazy! :D

Usually I gain 3-4 lbs around my period (before and after). It is frustrating.
