I'm realizing what I really need is support from others to lose weight. I never tell my family because they always insist I am perfect the way I am and tell me it's stupid for me to want to be thinner. Then they proceed to taunt me whenever they are eating dessert or having pancakes (MY FAVORITE) for breakfast. I wish my family could understand that I know I'm not fat but I do think I can look and feel better! I am thankful for the support I have already found here.

I so can relate! It's just whenever you mention you're dieting everyone's first priority becomes to make you eat as much as possible.

Many of us older folks probably had your story when we were your age (or something similar, and then the weight just added on as the years went by. Good for you to try to do something NOW about it! Best wishes!

I had similar issues and now my whole family freaks out if i try to eat healthy and skip dessert:O
