Wow Curvaceous, your post sparked a lot of discussion. I think it's fine to enjoy food within your caloric limit, if you're getting adequate nutrition and your weight is showing a downward trend or already well within the healthy range for your height. A bit of ketchup or a few fries isn't going to make you diabetic. It's all about the adipocytes - if they've reached their limit, they're going to resist more storage and that's the beginning of insulin resistance. But generally, all biomarkers of health improve with weight loss, even if your diet includes sugar, fat and "bad foods".
