Is anyone out there doing the 16:8 fast? Would love to hear your experiences. And on another note - to those of you weighing in on a Monday morning, wow, that takes guts - and total confidence in your ability to not to go overboard on the weekend ;)

I had to change mine from Tuesdays to Saturdays. I'm more careful on Fridays now.

I do fasting. started on 16:8 and it is my safe zone most of the time. I'm currently on 18:6 for most days during the week. it has changed my life. best thing I ever did was learn about it and follow through. it allows a lot more flexibility Ito what can be eaten. I don't practice keto or Banting. I calorie track and fast. I avoid bread, white potatoes, white rice and crisps - but other than that I don't eliminate much else. I also used to suffer severely with migraines. and since fasting has become part of my life, I barely even get minor headaches. wrt weighing on a Monday. there's no point hiding from yourself because then you won't grow on your journey. if ive had a wild weekend, then the best way for me to move forward is to know what the scale is saying so that I can refocus. I also track every thing. never avoid tracking a treat, because then you can't know for certain what those foods actually are ito the caloric value. sometimes it's not actually as bad as we think and we can only know that for sure by tracking. also do yourself a favour and read about the difference between weight loss and fat loss. that will eliminate a lot of the fear factor around weight fluctuations. a weekend of indulgence doesn't mean that suddenly on a Monday you're fatter. it may simply be water retention which is easy to flush out over a couple days 👍🏽

I do 16:8 fasting 6 days a week. I find it amazing for my self control and I feel great. I've been doing it for about 3 and a half years now!

I'm doing OMAD from Monday to Friday, then the 16:8 fast on weekends to increase my calorie intake so that my body doesn't adapt to the decreased calorie intake and plateau

I also do 16:8 fast and found it easy as you either basically skip breakfast or dinner.

Thanks for all the input guys! Much appreciated and so inspiring. I too am finding it a great way to cut down on calories and it does wonders for my self control. Calorie tracking is also really making me thing about what I eat. My downfall is bread and rice. I'm Indian and I grew up with food that was always eaten with either rice, bread or roti. I have made small changes in switching to kilojoule controlled brown bread and brown basmati rice, skim milk instead of full cream, sweetener instead of sugar etc. I know that eventually I will have to make bigger changes to reach my goal but for now I am content with keeping calories under 1500 - next baby step, healthier options ;)
