I’m really struggling with my weight. I cut my calories to 1450 and I’ve gained 5 more pounds I’m almost at 200! I’ve never weighed more than 187 :( it’s taking a hit on me in every way

Maybe try lowering the calories by 100, and see if that works? It really depends on your body. Some people cannot really restrict much, and if you don't want to go below 1400, good for you. Maybe try upping your protein intake and eating less carbs. And continue exercising. Maybe try a different exercise routine. It could be a lot of things. You might be gaining muscles, you might be sore or something. I hear that those are a possibilities. If you do all of that and still find yourself gaining weight then it's probably time for you to see a doctor about it. Could be a bigger issue.

Thanks! I’ve seen to gain more weight when I started to cut back on more calories. Then my doctor told me only 50 carbs per day and eat only 1300 my body didn’t respond well to that. I got blood work done back in June and all those number cane back than last years numbers just my weight is up so frustrating

Did the blood work come back normal? And you should give low carb a try. When I first started out, I was low carb.

the less i eat, the more i gain. you might want to try upping it, as long as you eat well :)

My blood work was awesome! I actually got all my numbers down from last year lol my doctor was happy with that he hasn’t said much about the weight I’m the one that has said anything. This app tells me 1900 calories per day...I thought that is way to high...so I figured I knock off some calories I’m starting to think that wasn’t a good idea lol Other apps tell me anywhere from 1450-1650 per day...🤷🏻‍♀️

I think I may up my calories to 1700.. 🧐

Are you weighing, measuring every bite you eat? I log around 1400 but that excludes coffee, creamers and minor snackables. So in the end in reality I eat closer to 1600-1700. It makes a difference

I track everything or round it off as much as I can. If the 1700 calories don’t work for me back to the drawing board lol so frustrating and confusing

I'm with you there :(

Do you weigh and measure? Example if I don’t weigh my PB vs just using a tbs calories are way off.

Make sure to track everything. Have a scale and measuring spoons ready. I do not know how often I have to do a reset because I get too relax with measuring. Are you exercising a bit. It helps with everything

I log all my food religiously. Are you exercising at all? That has helped me define my body.

4 miles on the treadmill 3-5 days a week

Drinking more water may help...or changing the exercise up a little. The body quickly adjusts to what we give it.

That seems like extra calories for weight loss. Unless you are burning them. Have you tried a basil weight calculator? This helped me get started. Calculator.net

How does everyone figure out their calories? This app tells me 1900....other apps tell me 1600-1800? I upped my calories to 1600 not 1700. I’m just at a loss right now

For about 2 years I was walking on treadmill at 4 mph for 30 minutes 5 days a week and this maintained my weight at 168 lb. I recently started jogging for 30 minutes 5 days a week and my weight has started to come down. I also included some moderate weights exercises. As others have said perhaps a different exercise will help, as it did for me. Good luck.
