Regression

I am writing this here because I think you guys will understand what I am going through and if unable to advise, at least empathy is guaranteed. My goal weight in 65 kg. My dream weight is 63 kg for my 1.64 height. As of 2 weeks ago I hit 65.3kg.
I have been trying to maintain 1400 cal per day via IF 16/8 with my Macros: 30% Carbs, 30% fat and 40% protein. I am always over my carbs and below my protein.... the worst part now is I am regressing and I’m hitting 1900 cal per day. 😭😭😭😭
I don’t know what to do to get out of this rut and feeling sorry for myself. If I am not careful, I will gain all the weight back. I use IF 16/8 in an effort to manage cal intake but I see that in my eating window is when I get the 1900 cal so it’s kind of defeating the purpose. I’m thinking of going back to normal 3 meals a day (no IF) and seeing if I can manage 1400cal per day that way ☹️... also, how do I increase protein ...?? Do you recommend a protein shake ? If yes, which one ?

Hey Nthandi! 👋 I would recommend trying OMAD, this way you can “set” your calories and eat your meal according to this. It should be quite easy for you - since you already do fasting. I’m doing keto (so unable to advise you on the diet part). P.S I think you would experience the same issue (eating more calories within your eating window) when you stop intermittent fasting.

Try Fast 800 to lose those last few kilos.

Thanks.... I have been realizing that maybe the trick is to move to OMAD as in that way it’s very unlikely that I would exceed the daily cal. Thanks 🙏🏾

Hi hi😊😊 hope you're doing well. I've never fasted or anything like that. What I do, do is have three meals a day. Sooooometimes I'll snack. I plan my day ahead that way I control my calories. I'm about 161cm and I eat 1600cal a day. Most days I'm less than that without even trying. I also wear an activity watch and I aim for 12 000steps a day. Hope this helps 😊😊

Hi. Try drinking a glass of water (about 350ml) each time you just start to think you may want to snack.

I've never really been a fan of 'crash' diets. I lost 20kgs doing intermittent fasting combined with resistance training last year, but I gained 10kg again the moment I stopped doing it the last couple of months. I'd recommend getting a routine that you enjoy. Find low cal high protein meals that you enjoy, and if you can handle the fasting diet go for it. But if you're doing something that makes you feel like your constantly depriving yourself and that you are constantly suffering, it won't last. I'm currently eating 3 meals a day, one before gym, one at 13:00 and the last one at around 18:00. And I even snack (healthy low cal snacks) and drink my Protein shake after gym and I keep way below my daily intake goal. And I never feel like binge eating, or eating cheat meals because I really enjoy what I'm eating.
