What a crazy couple of days I've had - like nothing I've experienced before. It all revolved around someone in a professional capacity 'borrowing' about 25k euros (about 35k $) of money that we're responsible for (not our money) without permission. We thought this person was great, now we are so disappointed in him and we're not sure the police should have been involved! All the money is now fully paid back... but what a shock. We're back on an even keal with damage limitation plans working. It's now in the past and chalked up to one of life's experiences.

I am still stuggling with losing weight, over 3 weeks exactly, I have lost 1.8 lb, John has lost 8.5 lb over the same time scale, despite him having extras like milk, various fruits, oh and a medicinal brandy yesterday to steady his nerves after the above shock. So I've come to the conclusion, I am sure I am insulin resistant and I'm off the chemist this week to have it confirmed by having tests. Just in case I am at stage 4 of type II diabetis.

On www.atkins.com (Blogs), Colette Heimowitz, the Nutritionist has written two blogs, one was submitted 11th November 'The role of insulin in difficulty losing weight' and another one on 5th November, 'The path to Diabetis' - anyone has a slow metabolism, it's recommended reading.

This week I am aiming for a clean induction again. It is a good way to focus.

Hope everyone has a great, peaceful, happy and successful weak! x

Hang in there Jen. You will pull through this. Sorry to hear about the above mishap with the money. Glad it all got paid back. Thanks for sharing the blogs to check out. I think I will do that as soon as I have enough time to sit a bit. You also have a great week and hang in there.:)

Jen, sorry if I am being forgetful...but are you going by net or total carbs??? try to maintain a salad at lunch and dinner, and only add one veggie w/ dinner - for awhile. Also, lose the nuts over the next week or two, and see if a super clean induction can get you back on the losing side of things. (I have added nuts 3 times now, and all 3 times stalled out...) (It doesn't hurt to wipe the slate clean and try again!)

Great idea to start on clean induction again. I know it's tempting to go by what your hubby does; my hubby eats nuts, berries and still loses weight faster than I do, but men generally have faster metabolisms and can get away with eating more carbs while still losing. Unfair, but true. So increase those foundation veggies (helps with the digestive system), drink lots of water (also helps with digestive system and flushing out those fats) and stick to clean induction (no MIMS or nuts). I bet you'll be losing again in no time.
