Today was very difficult for me to stick to the diet. When I look back at my day I am glad I managed to eat 20 g net carbs even though I cheated a little and ate 2 soy and flaxseed chips. I started to experience a heartburn. I did not realize what it was at the beginning and suffered for a few days but finally I took some tums and it helped for awhile. I wonder if it is common or what might cause it. Trying to ease the heartburn I kept eating. That is why I ended up with a few chips in my mouth :)) I ate way too much cheese today but it was the only "permitted" food I could get at work, so my calories for today are higher than usual. I have a weight training session tonight and plan on doing some extra cardio to burn those calories off. I hope it will not slow down my weight loss. I was down to 183 lb! I can't wait to see 170s.

I always get heartburn when I cheat!!! ha! Its weird - I used to have heartburn all the time before I started Atkins. So I think its strange that you're getting it now. Have you been eating a lot of high acid foods like tomatoes? Come to think of it - it may be dairy related. I know many people get it when they consume a lot of dairy. Try cutting back on the dairy and see if that helps! Good luck!

As far as I know dairy is not permitted during Induction, except cheese but I eat only 1 oz or less a day, no acid food either, maybe one small tomato a day. I used to eat much more dairy and tomatoes and had no problem before. Anyway I am cutting off all my cheese now to see if that helps. Thanks for your advice :))
