Down almost 3lbs from yesterday - 2.87 lbs!! Might be water weight loss but who cares! LOL. Followed Atkins yesterday although I did screw up and have some almonds, but I didn't go crazy on them. Got another walk in this morning on the way to school. Even got the kids to run a bit so I sort of did intervals. So another 2.2 km for me...

Whoo Hoo! I did the same thing! Go Us! Don't think of the almonds as a screw up. I eat at least 2 oz a day of almonds and they don't hurt me a bit! Congrats!

Thanks, Amanda. Apparently not supposed to have almonds during the induction phase, but I had nothing else for a snack and was out and about and starving to bought some. I live in a small town so have to wait until I go to the city so I can buy some Atkins shakes or bars to have on hand if I do get hungry.

I honestly think you would be making a better choice by having the almonds rather than a Atkins bar or shake. The Atkins bars & shakes seem to sabotage my weight loss. I try to avoid them at all costs, but we are all different and you may be able to tolerate them better than I can. Sure, I still lose weight if I eat the Atkins products, but I lose much faster when I don't have them.

The Atkins bars are very bad. If I'm having super crazy sugar cravings, I'll have one but it's better to avoid them altogether. I do eat almonds or macadamia nuts for crunch, or to take to "gatherings" where non-plan food is plentiful. They have a good fiber content and help keep me "regular".

Almonds? Did anyone say almonds? Some people have a problem with almonds and others don't. I keep some handy in case I have a snack attack. It sure beats cheating. You are doing awesome. If you are continuing to lose weight pretty regularly why worry if it doesn't come off to fast. I took alot of years to get to 286 pounds and I'm only half of the way to my goal since January. Some weeks you will not lose as much as others. We are in this together. We Can Do It!!!!!!!!!!

Hmm, I have eated almonds the last couple of days - most has been 1/4 cup, but I have eaten half a atkins bar the last few days and a shake the last two mornings cause I was in a hurry. I have not lost any more, wonder if that is what it is. Sometimes you just need something that tastes like chocolate, but maybe I better space mine out more! Thanks and keep up the good work guys!!!

I always have almonds in my desk drawer. Raw, unsalted... Good protien, LOTS of fiber, so makes the carbs minimal. As for bars and shakes- I avoid them. Hidden sugar, processed... you are better with real food.

You know what I found that I thought was totally cool? They are making sugar free gum now that tastes like yummy stuff. I saw some new gum at the 7 Eleven and it was mint chocolate chip flavored!!! How cool is that? I should have bought it.

2 carbs in each piece of that gum! Still...better than an Atkins Bar or the REAL thing. LOL

Thanks for all the tips. I took 26 almonds with me in a bag yesterday when I was out running errands in case I got hungry, and they did the trick. So still trying to avoid them if I can but yes, better than some other choices. I did also pick up a few Atkins bars and some shakes as I'm a hockey mom and spend some time in arenas. :-)
