Multiplicity1's Journal, 31 Oct 10

Yesterday we bought a new car. It is a 2010 Nissan Altima and I really love it. I did have some problems dealing with our purchase though because the dealer said we would get 2.9 % financing and then said we couldn't get that rate because our credit wasn't perfect unless we bought a maintenance package that will cost us $3000 over the life of the loan. I was disgusted but we wanted the car so I agreed to it and then I felt abused and stupid for agreeing to it. It was a lot better deal than the original 11% rate they wanted to charge us and we did get very good trade in value for our used Nissan Sentra which needed lots of body work and some maintenance. I am really happy with the car which is the nicest one I have ever owned. It has a Bose radio system, satellite radio, seats that heat up in the cold, leather seats, cars and locks that open without having to use a key, and a sunroof. It is a sparkly navy blue color. I just hate to feel stupid and at the mercy of someone. I overate yesterday because of it. It was program food but too much cheese and not enough veggies again. Today I have to get back on track.
I am back on OWL which will be easier. I even found some 5 carb a slice bread to try. I weighed 183.8 so I am getting close to the 170's now. I lost more than 5 lbs. in the last two weeks on Induction plus nuts so that was good especially since I didn't do it perfectly at all. I need to order some more 7 carb pitas. My daughter and husband liked them so much they ate all but one of them from a whole case of them. I also need to order some bake mix. I got some of my veggies in this morning when I ate an omelet with a tomato, green pepper and onions in it. I will have a salad for lunch. Brussel sprouts for dinner. We'll probably try to make another recipe from genaw.com or 1001 Low Carb Recipes.
I have been walking regularly lately which is great. I need to get busy and do the rest of my exercises too.
Today we paid off the balance on our new dryer so that will make our life a lot easier too. Tomorrow we take Zeta for her third set of puppy shots. I think she gets her rabies shots tomorrow. She is a delight and a challenge. I can't get over how cute she is. I need to figure out how to post her picture on here.
I guess I'll go now and check out my buddies journals.

Hi Andrea! Congratulations on your new car! How cool and it sounds beautiful, too. I don't know many people who don't feel somewhat abused at a car dealership, though. I'm sure you're going to enjoy it! Glad you're walking more, must mean your foot is doing pretty well. And congratulations on losing over 5 lbs in two weeks! That's amazing. And you're getting really close to the 170's! Aren't you excited?? Hey, when you figure out the picture thing, you need to post a more current picture of YOURSELF, too! Nice going, Andrea!

Hey Andrea - I guess I am just a fighter at heart. That sounds soooo wrong! I do understand that the low financing terms are generally for **approved credit ratings** - I don't see how they could approve you by adding $3000 to your purchase. How did that change your credit rating? It sounds wrong. Do you have the 3 day buyer's remorse clause in Tenn? I would call your state's Attorney General's office and ask if this is acceptable? I think if they could approve you w/ the 3,000 added fee, they could have approved you w/out it. They can't just force you to buy a maintainance pkg you don't want. Probably a lot of work at this point to change it all...but I would return the car, cancel the deal, and use the info the state's AG's office gives you and either purchase w/out the $3000 add on...or go to another Nissan dealer. That's such bull... Thrilled for your 5 pound loss though!!! Good for you.
