I used to look down on pulses because it was something we ate a lot as children and I preferred meat. But it is amazing how satisfying properly cooked pulses can be.

Yes, it was. Saved a bowl for my carer and although she had never eaten such a dish before, she said she liked it and will cook it in the future. (She is a private carer, not agency. Agency carers do not become part of the family, sadly.) Fava is mainly a summer dish, eaten as a thick cold paste, usually as a starter dish if you go to a taverna or a main dish at people's homes.
