I just had an epiphany. I realized that my eating habits were much like my old habit of biting my fingernails. I chewed on my fingernails since before I can remember. I did it without thinking, it wasn't a nervous habit, just something I did. In high school I was finally able to stop biting my fingernails and what really helped was painting them. I would paint them and then I would try to focus on how nice they looked and think 'do I really want to do this?'. The fingernail polish helped me focus on them before I did something I didn't want to do. This site is helping me the same way, instead of getting bored and standing in front of the fridge looking for something, I plan my meals knowing that I will have to enter them in 'here'. Accountability. It works…at least so far.

Works for me too sister. Watching portions is the big thing for me, but knowing I'll have to enter it in here helps me pick better choices. ^.^

Yes, I know logging all the food here is fantastic. I realised that I ate some snacks because I was bored, chips and so on, and those had around 500 calories. So my I-am-bored-snacks made up more than a quarter of my daily need. No need to say, I am finding something else to do when I am bored.
