I'm resting up, but disappointed in my self motivation to exercise. It's really hard right now since they took me off all my meds because they would hurt the baby. Been on meds for PTSD, bipolar, sleep and anxiety for 9+ years then cold turkey due to pregnancy. I'm happy I'm at least doing other small things around the house and not sleeping the day away. One step at a time I keep telling myself. Exercise will come, mental health first.

Functioning without your meds has got to be hard and pregnancy just does things to your body and mind. Could be hard to tell which is lack of meds and which is pregnancy! Go easy on yourself. Small victories like not sleeping the day away are to be celebrated. Exercise does help with mental health however maybe take your expectations down a few notches. Anything is good. A short walk, a few stretches whatever works.

@59carol thank you so much. I really needed to hear that. I realize that I give everyone else so much understanding but I dont do the same for myself. I started making a list of small things I wanted to get done each day and I'm so proud when i get all them done. Like five the dogs a bath, make my bed, make dinner for hubby, stuff like that. Just taking it slow and appreciating myself when I accomplish something on the list. Really going back to basics with that self care. I was just so disappointed to make so much progress in my mental health over the last 10 years and to see that turn so quickly I beat myself up instead of loving myself through it. Thank you for the advice. I really needed that.

You have 10 years of mental health progress under your belt! That is wonderful. Self talk is so empowering when it is on your side. Take the time to re-frame ANY rotten mental comment to something more positive or at least neutral. You must be your greatest cheerleader! Don't count on others to do it for you. When I was doing chemo (I know rotten analogy already however self care was key at the time!) I wrote out a list for each day. The top of the list were the must dos. They were (I kid you not these were on the list and I crossed them off) brush my teeth, floss, brush my hair, shower or wash face depending on day,eat breakfast, lunch, supper, walk for 5 min, arm mobility exercises (10 min) for after the lumpectomy. Those were the non-negotiables. Then I would draw a line and under the line at the bottom of the list were no more than three things that I would do if I felt up to it. Might be wash dishes, sweep the floors, and clean the mirrors. If I got the top things done, I was good and the bottom things were a victory! Glad you are writing out a list and crossing things off. Allows you to feel like you got things done that needed to get done.

Thank you so much Carol! I really needed to hear that. Gave me a little more faith in myself and I'm going to power through this. If I can survive up until now with the odds against me i can definitely do this.
