I have a question for someone. I am 55 years old. I way 273 pounds. I have a short term goal of 250. How many calories should I take in? Also, an important fact, I can only drink shakes for the most part. I have so many digestion issues after weight loss surgery, which only comes to like 540 calories a day. Help me please.

It depends upon the speed at which you want to lose.

Sounds about right Joe! I’m around 185 most of the time and if I dip below 1600 I get pretty week and don’t have much energy for work outs. Easy on the cardio after weight loss surgery. Friend didn’t know he had an enlarged heart and the outcome was not good. To maximise weight loss I’d suggest a low carb diet for awhile but lifting weights is also great because it increases muscle mass which burns more calories on a daily basis! Good shedding Joe!
