Alaskagal's Journal, 12 Aug 10

I feel great! No sugar or flour for two weeks and no more aches or joint pain! Yay! I'm very excited to make this a liftime WOE instead of just another diet. No stranger to low-carb since doing Atkins in the 70's and again in the 90's. I know it works but now I'm ready to live it not diet! I have stopped beating myself up because I now know those carbohydrate cravings were not an indication of a weak will or a character flaw but of my insulin and blood sugar levels. It's about chemistry not character! This time I'm in it for the long-haul and at my age there's no time to turn back. I seriously started induction on 8/10/10 and plan to stay here until 9/1/10 then decide to move on or stay a while longer.
