Since I'm at the halfway mark with 24 lbs lost, figured I'd make a before and after post. Before: 202.2 lbs on 6/26/19, 31.5% body fat (estimated) After: 178.8 lbs on 10/21/19, 22.5% body fat (estimated) In the after picture I'm wearing my old size 36 pants, boy do they feel huge! Now at a size 32. 1700 kcal daily using FatSecret. Burning between 300 to 600 kcal daily with weight lifting and swimming. Can't do Brazilian Jiu Jitsu or cycling until I get a knee meniscus tear resolved from a bad training session Sept 11th...was really depressed for about a day until I realized I could still burn fat by putting a pull buoy between my legs and do the front crawl to swim with just my arms. Now I swim 1000 meters that way, then dry off and go inside for an upper body workout, pull one day then push the next. Where there's a will there's a way! Still have about 20 lbs to lose to get to 10% body fat. Have come a long way, but still a ways to go. Remember everyone: we're all going to make it. Every last one of us.

For journal entries with pictures I think you need to use FatSecret from a web browser, not the mobile app.

Thank you so much for the support! I'm honestly cringing at putting my pictures on here, but I feel it fits in with the accountability aspect of FatSecret: eat too much, and your weight loss chart gets a ding. Stick to your diet and lose weight, and you get to show the results and maybe inspire others.

LeAnnL, fat secret seems to have a decent calorie budget calculator, but I used a different one, google up "sailrabbit bmr". Plugin your stats, use a sedentary lifestyle activity level. Chose a calorie budget somewhere between your BMR and your TDEE. Record everything you eat down to the gram. Rather than set a low calorie budget, set a more moderate one and burn calories with exercise. Don't know how much you're eating, no label to scan? DONT EAT IT! Weigh yourself every day. Stick with it, religiously stay withing your calorie budget. Monitor your mood: if you're losing weight but also losing your marbles, ease up a bit. Plenty of water, vitamins. Learn to hate calorie dense foods, they'll just leave you feeling hungry. Eat healthy, and think ahead to lunch and dinner: a big meal early in the day can leave you with no room left in your budget to eat later on!
