redwinelover's Journal, 07 Aug 10

Day 10 of Insanity workout. Today was Cardio Recovery, so it was mostly deep stretches, slow squats and some yoga - it's 32 min. long and burned a "whopping" 100 calories. Looks like I'm doing at least one other workout aside from the Slim in 6, since it doesn't burn a lot of calories, either. I might try one of the Kathy Smith dvds. Weight still the same. I'm a little disappointed as I should be at 136.4 doing "the math". Maybe tomorrow. I've dropped a pound overnight before...it could happen :) These workouts ARE hitting some muscles in a new way, so maybe that's some of it.

...well, I decided to only do the Slim in 6. That was another 49 min. workout and though I didn't burn a lot of calories, I think I'll give my body a rest. But I'm so hungry today. And I want to drink wine. Dilemma! :)

I've noticed my workout doesn't burn much either for 30 min. workout(350). I also was thinking about adding, but its hard with having a toddler and only 2 hours of alone time.

Hi there! Thanks for visiting my journal :) If you're burning 700 calories per hour, that's a pretty darn good calorie burn! I'm using the bodybugg so I don't rely on FS's estimations on how many calories I burn - I think they overstate them here. It IS difficult to find time for yourself with a toddler - I remember those days! But...the best way to take care of your child is to take care of her mother :) I'm currently doing the Insanity 60 day program and it's INTENSE! (not today as it was a cardio recovery day) Like yesterday's workout was 41 min. - super intense plyometric cardio circuit. You're amazed when you get through it. All that work and sweat and maximum, sustained effort and I burned about 350 calories. I'd swear it had to be way more than that for the effort involved. But I'm also a lot older (burn less calories per anything I do!) and weigh less, so burn less. For instance, my resting and sleeping for 24 hours only adds up to 1516 calories! (which is probably pretty accurate if I did nothing other than sleep and sit on the sofa!) Makes it tough when you like food! So I have to keep finding ways to burn some calories so I can eat AND lose weight! Too hot to hike! I see you're from Bullhead City, so you know full well what I mean. I SO miss hiking and have come to hate summers here! Can't wait for mid to late Sept.... Any luck making new friends yet?

I know, I know, Info. But patience has never been one of those virtues I possess! Guess it's like working out - if it's difficult for me, I need to practice it, huh? Lots of life lessons in this weight loss journey. Thanks, Info!

Thanks, Info! I hadn't checked yesterday's journal, so thanks for the heads up. I think I'm doing what I can, and I never actually experienced fast weight loss. I may look into that hyaluronic acid. And the funny thing about something in that link was the coconut. I've been craving coconut for a long time ... of course, I want to cover it with dark chocolate, too! Maybe I'm craving it because I "need" it? :)

Hi Klannoye! No, I didn't get your pm...I'll go check. And YES, I did have the wine. :) Surprisingly, only two measured 4 oz glasses :) Believe me, I most likely would have had more, but I was not only starving, I was physically exhausted, too! I went to bed by 11:30 last night after reading! Hope you burn lots of calories...will go check my inbox now ...
