After much reflection I'm switching over to my own diet. I know what I need to do; I just haven't been doing it. My own diet will focus on veggies, fruits, and lean protein as the mainstay; I'll also have whole grains, low-fat dairy, and treats in moderation a few times a week. My thought is that I'm not going to deny myself anything - if I want something, I'll plan for it and include it. I've done so many diets and I know what good nutrition is. I just need to apply it. The "all-or-nothing" approach doesn't work for me. I start to feel deprived and then rebel and blow it. I need to look at this as a journey and a life-long process, not punishment to get down to a certain weight or look good in a particular outfit. I'm going to incorporate the best from the diets that have been the most effective for me: lots of lean protein from Atkins; focus on fruit/veggies and overall balanced diet from WW. I'll be aiming for about 1600 calories per day. So here I go...
