Shannon1743's Journal, 28 Jul 10

I am at the weight I was 3 years ago when my I stopped losing post surgery. I stayed at that weight for awhile but then in the last year or so had gained about 20 lbs up to the 286. It is nice to be back down here, now I feel like I am just continuing on with the original weightloss. This has been easy in many ways so far but more difficult in others. With the surgery I lost weight fast and I didn't have to try at all. I could eat whatever I wanted, even sugary stuff, and had very little side effects except weightloss. I never really learned how to eat or what I was putting in my body. Most of all, I never dealt with any of the issues that got me to weighing 415 pounds in the first place. When I started this diet, this time, I decided to do this differently. I am paying attention to what I am eating and whether I choose to eat crap or not, I am going to know what crap I eat and write it down and be accountable to myself for it. Last week I had a fight with my sister who then brought my dad into it and who then took her side. That whole incident triggered in me some emotions I have NEVER dealt with. Abandonment, sadness, depression, anger, and more... from when I was a kid and throughout my adult life. This time though, I have felt all of those painful emotions and I have not eaten them. It hurts and it is killing me to feel so vulnerable and sad and be crying for no reason. I know that stuffing my face full of crap would make that stop for a short period but I just don't wanna go there. I feel good about the success I have had over food this week and I am hoping that the scale continues to validate that success for me so that I can stay strong.
