Best collard greens ever! pop whole bag in freezer (saves on chopping). Next day fry up 1/2 # bacon set aside. crunch up frozen greens in the bag (less mess) toss them in with the bacon grease and fry down till all change to brite green. add in red pepper flakes to your comfort level and toss in two beers. drop heat to simmer and wait till the liquid is just under the top layer of greens. chop bacon serve on top of greens. Dang.. now *I* want collard greens!! Thanks for the tip on the frozen - perfect!! You poured beer into the greens? What does that do? I've used it for making batter but never cooking green veggies.
