She requested milks shakes and gf vanilla cake with all natural sprinkles... she ate like six bites, and 1/3 of her milkshake... I had a small piece of cake and didn’t log yesterday. Surprised the scale didn’t reflect it this morning.

Thanks. She was licking her lips ready for the cake! Lol
But her fever was going from 102-104.6 yesterday and had awfully sniffle and a productive cough. She was eating just not as much as usual... and the slice was massive just to hold up the candle... since I didn’t want her blowing on the entire cake 🤣
I will make it up to her with a special day. We are also going to legoland next week for three days! So that will be fun!!

Awwww so cute!! My kids have been sick on their birthdays too. I was sick myself on mine a few years ago and whined my head off, worse than a kid. I had to giggle when you mentioned you gave her a slice, as to not blow on the entire cake, exactly like something I’d do. Thought I was the only momma like that!! LOL! Glad I’m not alone hahaha

Bonny,
Happy belated bday! Hope you feel better.
Thanks everyone!!
She’s been much better today, fever is down to 99.1!!! Yay! I’ve been dropping diluted sole water up her nose since I can’t do the Neti pot or sprays on her. And she’s been drinking coconut water with a mix of juiced fruits with powdered greens and protein added. Most kids we know were wiped out for 3-5 days with this bug. She was about 2.25days!!! I’m excited it’s because i think she will be well enough for our Legoland and San Diego trip!!!

I totally agree... about soaking up all the time and moments!! I actually have chosen to homeschool my two daughters, 6yo and almost 11yo... to keep my kids close and following their passions and thriving... they attend the most amazing classes and are learning things that I only dreamed about learning as a kid! I also have a lot of control over who their friends are... meaning they have the best quality friends to attend these quality classes with! I feel so blessed. I get to see them grow in the most optimal situations! And the best part is that their charter pays for it all!!!

mamamc7, I can relate somewhat....I myself went to a private school growing up (fortunate), but my daughter now a young teen, is in public school. I try my best to be one of those Dad's that are always involved. I have the luxury of making my own hours, as I am semi-retired and trying to make a new version of myself (ver.2.0)...I spent a great deal of time with her and her friends....we often have heart felt discussions about life lessons, people, and more.... It does seem that she was little enough to fit into my hands/arms....now I have to just hold her as near and dear to my heart whenever possible. Glad to hear you are a hands on parent, so am I, it is the one thing missing in todays society---as well as teaching morals. Oh, how I long for the by gone days......I suppose it good to reminisce but not stay in that though process for to long now a days. Look forward to reading more your posts.... Congrats, you are a wonderful parent and mother.....

Wright, likewise! You sound like a terrific parent!
My oldest spent a year in public until my heart was broken... there were 4 parents involved in the kindergarten class... out of 29 kids. Well those four parents all ended up homeschooling the next year!!! And our kids/families are all still very close friends! So it was just meant to be...
But I agree that society lacks involved parents these days. But the way that the economy is going... parents can’t afford to be stay at home parents anymore ☹️ The town I live in has a crazy living cost. It takes four incomes to pay for a two bedroom... so that’s what landed us back at my dads house, because one income isn’t going to pay rent here... so we plan to move away... but haven’t quite gotten the courage yet!!

Mamamc7, I agree with your sentiment, cost of everything seems to be going up..! Be thankful you have parents which care for you and your children's well being. I wish you all the best....life has a way of beating us up, me included, but just know there are others struggling as well to make ends meet. Some persons have it better than others, but everyone has a struggle ----they may just not disclose it! Hold your head up, your setting a fine example for your kids.....they are witnessing how life can be--> difficult at times, but Mom and the Grandparents are working to make things better.... I look forward to speaking with ya more in the near future! Best of luck on your search and potential move..... ;)
