Slowly... but it is happening!!
I cannot compare this part of my journey to last year when I first went keto. I lost 13lbs in 9 days. And that’s really what made me stick with it, the numbers were very encouraging!! But since then I have done things differently, even when I wasn’t being strict, I would have no regular soda or coffee, I skipped rice and pasta, used less sauces, used portion control and had less treats than before... went in and out of keto a few times over the year but had trouble being consistent and not falling off the wagon.
I fell asleep to the rain last night! 😍 hoping for more gentle rain today!!!
I hope everyone is having a great week. Anyone have exciting plans for the week(end)?!

@baskington I feel best when I do strict keto and IF. But the results aren’t happening as quickly as before since I have been eating relatively low carbs. I also don’t have as much weight to lose like I did... maybe that’s a factor?!
I also have been SOOOOO stressed the last like 2.5months straight... that hasn’t been helpful.

I’m on my last ten lbs to lose but I’ve done low carb so long I can’t really wrap my head around how to do keto. Can you give me an example of a day breakfast to dinner what a full days meal of keto looks like?

Blessed0989– do a Google. There are thousands of sample Keto recipes and meal plans out there free for the asking. Also for any other diet that you might be interested in as well.

I have googled it but it just doesn’t make sense to me, I read that with keto you are supposed to keep protein very low as well as carbs almost non existent yet when I google keto sample meal plans and recipies they all involve a lot of meat and/or types of flour ect so when I try and put a plan together it’s always over on protein for sure and sometimes carbs seem to be still high

There is so much out there— I don’t personally do Keto. I am not dieting. I monitor my intake for good health. It has a place in the diet toolbox and a lot of people who are type 2 diabetics use it successfully to keep their disease process under control. But, for most people it can be very difficult to adhere to for the long haul because it is so abberrently different from the way the rest of the world eats . Also if there is a history of heart disease, kidney problems, high blood pressure, liver issues like fatty liver I think it would be important to involve your physician. A high saturated fat, high sodium diet that excludes many types of vegetables also makes it difficult to provide our bodies with essential nutrients, like potassium, that are required for us to stay alive, would need some close monitoring.
I personally eat all things in moderation. I’m the queen of portion control and if I am really craving something I eat it. You may really have to do some research so you understand how Keto works and what is expected of you.

Blessed if you are trying keto you should keep more to whole foods more, the flour can really mess you up in the carb department. almond flour is costly in carbs if you are eating a lot of it in the recipes

Example of my dad is:
Bfast:
Coffee with cinnamon and heavy cream
A boiled egg, a smallish piece of keto bread, it contains almond meal, eggs, cheese and oil and everything spice. With a tbsp of cream cheese on top
Snack:
A pickle and cheese stick (if in
Lunch:
A small cheeseburger patty with mayo and mustard and saur Kraut
Dinner:
A keto friendly cole slaw (no sugar added, just a little sour cream, mayo and vinegar, turmeric and pepper)
Then I bake chicken thighs or meat with some broccoli or cauliflower
Dessert:
Raspberries and full fat Greek yogurt (if I’m hungry and have spare calories and carbs)
