so swollen again. day 2. all I've done is drink water. tomorrow if I'm swollen I'm drinking cranberry juice. Don't know what the problem is. I take lasix. I'm drinking plenty of water. Plenty of potassium. I think tomorrow will b a very little salt and cranberry juice kind of day. Hard to exercise when your swollen from your toes to past your knees. Only peed 4 times today. Does anyone know if amoxicillin will mess with the water pill?

Don’t know about amoxicillin, but there is hidden sodium in a lot of food. I avoid processed juices because of the high sugar content, instead I put lemon juice in water. It helps me get rid of the water retention. I too am on lasix, so I totally understand , and occasionally I too have swelling issues. Hope it eases up soon. Make sure to keep your feet elevated above your heart at least a few times a day.

I am a pharmacist. There is no interaction between amoxicillin and furosemide (Lasix.) Does your physician know about your high water intake? Depending on the reason you are taking Lasix, fluid restriction may be the best treatment for edema. Drinking lots of water can make edema worse. Lasix is a very powerful diuretic and causes low sodium, low potassium, low calcium, low magnesium and hypochloremic alkalosis. I suggest you contact your physician right away to have your electrolyte values checked. Do not treat yourself.

nurse here, if you are increasing your water intake without an adjustment in your furosemide it may be why youre swollen. if nothing in your regimen has changed and you are retaining more water it may mean a change in your condition. either way time to see your doctor

Hope you work out what’s ailing you. I know you must feel so sore from it

I’m on Lasix as well and *also* have to limit my fluid intake. If you’re taking Lasix and still gaining water weight, that is a medical issue and the seriousness of that depends on why it was prescribed. (For me, it would be quite dangerous.) This group is great for recipes, tactics and encouragement but please contact your doctor/nurse practitioner for this one. Take care of yourself!

Nurse here, since you're taking amoxicillin and drinking extra water, I recommend calling your doc...it wouldn't be a bad idea to check your kidney function.

I have a heart echo planned for Wednesday. Said he'd take a look then. I'm currently taking amoxicillin for a bladder infection. But I started that on the 21st. Should b about done. I'm gonna call my uro and set up another appointment. I feel alot of pressure and still not feeling like I'm emptying out. I retain about 1/4 a cup anyway, but this feels more full. And am on oxybutinin 10mg. Have managed to lose 2 pounds of water weight this morning so cranberry juice is working. Need to get rid of about 3 more pounds of it lol, before I'm normal.

My husband has the same problem. If you call your doctor's office you can probably talk to his nurse or PA. They can give you sound medical advice before you see him.

I am so happy that an echocardiogram is scheduled. It isn’t invasive and yields great information.

Call my uro they want me to have another urine culture done. Will b doing that tomorrow. Did manage to go pee 5 times today so far. Better then the 3 yesterday. Do feel less swelled. And scale is looking friendlier. Lemon water, and cranberry juice do help alot. Have noticed neuro's also help. Especially neuro trim.
