Multiplicity1's Journal, 05 May 10

Tomorrow is my husband's surgery at 9am. I stayed busy today so I did not worry. I came home early tonight so I could be with my husband. My night meds are not working so last night I was up until 5am and I only got 4 hrs. or sleep. I was worrying last night but today I feel much better, I prayed a lot last night and it helped a lot. I decided the doctor was not guiding the instruments but that God was guiding the hand of the doctor and the instruments. That eased my mind. I am very grateful that I am not craving junk food today. I would like a legal chocolate EAS shake. And I will have some strawberries. And I still have a third meal to eat tonight. I am going to focus on positive things tonight. I am going to assume his surgery is going to go well. I am going to assume he will be in a regular hospital room and be doing just fine by tomorrow evening. I am going to assume his cancer test will be negative. Then I will focus on finding out how to get some medical help for his extremely poor short term memory and how to file a claim for Gulf War Syndrome. I will lean on all my great friends and buddies for support. I will lean on God to get through all of it. Tomorrow I am going to eat a MIM at 5:39 am and take two hard boiled eggs and some almonds with me - maybe some pork rinds too. I will eat lunch at the hospital when I can arrange it and I will probably eat dinner at the hospital also. I should be able to get chicken and a salad or maybe some other kind of meat. I will allow myself to have some diet drinks if I decide to have some. And I will take some Atkins bars to get through an emergency like not being able to go for a meal for hours. I am tired and much calmer tonight Thank God.

You are doing great. It is so hard when you are going through a loved one's illness and hospitalization. You are planning ahead and that is truly the only thing yuou can do for your WOE. As for hubby, trust in God, that is all we can do. Trust in God, and pray. I will be praying for you and hubby during his surgery. Please let me know as soon as you can how he is doing. As for the help for the Gulf War Syndrome, there is a lot of help available for him through the VA, and they will know who to contact. I would also check into SSD for him. God Bless, Andrea, and keep the faith, girlfriend. All is going to be just fine!!

I will be thinking of you. I'm so impressed at how you are really planning you eating so you don't go off course and giving you a focus - so many would just cave in a say 'what the heck' but you are being so strong.

Don't worry about things you cannot control. You do the right thing by just placing things at this point in the hands of God. You will be surprised at how efficient most of these surgical techniques have become, miracles are being done every day. Try to distract yourself by putting yourself in a position where your mind can be away from your worries today. God Bless you both Andrea.
