Jen, Sorry you are having it rough. I looked at your week's dirt so far. It seems you may have kicked yourself out of ketosis. You had a few days over 30g carbs. Knock it back to under 20 or under 10 depending on which you follow. That should put you back into ketosis. I can only stay in keto under 10 carbs and I never worry or track my calories though they seem to stay low because I eat mostly protein/fat.

In my experience, I can take in less than 600 calories a day, but have over 30 carbs and not lose weight for DAYS :(

Mjgh, ok, those are total carbs like cucumbers. So, screw net carbs? Heck, I'll eat lard with no carbs if that would work. I've tested multiple times a day just to see if still in ketosis and I am. Going on 2 months no loss. Screw this I'm pissed ya. Frustrated,ya. And I get hungry and tired unlike the YOU'LL HAVE ENERGY once fat adapted. STILL WAITING. Gonna do one meal a day and try to kick it up, or should I say down to 0-10 carbs total. This is stupid my body isn't responding.

Jen carb count is what I try to go by, not net carbs. Net carbs came into play when there was govt./medical push back on the low carb diets. It was a way to appease them while letting the dieters also eat more. Sometimes they about equal out, other times it can be a big difference. But both Keto and Atkins diets began by counting carb count Not net carbs.

And as for my total carbs, i try i checked my entire month, only about 5 total days were high, and that was from spinach,cucumbers, the net were mostly all under 23.. don't think i'm going over all time. Most of the time , my carbs are just fine. Not to have any movement and to be gaining is a joke. Only think i can say is my body is a piece of crap and i'm stuck with it. I won't stop keto because keto is healing my dumb ass body.

Kimberly i do IF, meaning, I only have a window of maybe 4 hours to eat all day. A few days I can't make it, like yesterday, i was famished. I won't eat until dinner today. I'm going to finish up what i have in the house and then just eat lard LOL. OR NOTHING. geez. THis is stupid. sorry. AND I walk twice a day a mile plus (thats all i can do,but i do it)

Don't be so hard on yourself. You are doing good. This could be an increase before a big drop. It happens. Go to your weight history for this month. You gained to 189 on the 1st then massive drop to 187.5, then gained to 188 dropped to 186 and the pattern repeats all month. SO I would say be prepared for a drop. Overall you have lost 2# for the month which is pretty good. If you want to narrow it down more, look at your menu before you gained each time and see if there is a common theme that causes the gain.

I just got off phone with doc's bless l nurse. Yup, total carbs. I'll cut back asap, even though he said pickles are ok, it's still dang total carbs! They said my body still needs to adjust to new meds. Ok. By end of August I'll reach my goal of just LOSING! They still said don't count calories but I don't believe that crap anymore. At lest not for me. 👐😕

Focus on macros more than calories. 20 TOTAL carbs or less, moderate protein and lots of fat and your weight will eventually come down. Be patient!

Calorie management is a must on Keto for weight loss. I track it all and strive to stay under 1350 cal/day. Seems to be working. I also stay under 20 net carb and under 30 total. Good luck!

Pixie68 how long did you give it before you cut calories? A day? Week? I've given it 2 months . Only because I wanted my metabolic rate to bump up if at all possible. I did try lol. I've read a lot of places don't count, eat till satisfied, ive read net carba, I've read total carbs, I've read I'll gain at first then drop, I've read I'll get a burst of new found energy, haha NOT! it just shows how different every single human being is, AND THE ONLY Rule is the one that works!

I believe fuel (calories) are required to burn (metabolic). Period. I am full Keto now, totally believe in it, but will never fast on purpose ~ that equals starvation IMO

I was counting in the beginning and then I heard "don't count, just eat until you are full!" I still tracked it so I know I was going over by like 500 calories a day, and I also noticed that my weight was creeping up. It is so confusing and it is so much trial and error!
