So I was wondering if anyone eats canned fruit with no sugar added? If so which brand of canned fruit do you eat. I do not like the fruit cocktail of any brand. I do like oranges, pineapple and sliced peaches I can eat sometimes. Right now I eat the Aldi brand of pineapple and oranges and they both have 20grams of sugar!!!!! This might be part of my problem lol...so I’m looking for ideas. I know fresh fruit is always best but in Michigan it’s always slim pickings...Or it costs an arm and leg to buy!! I can understand why so many people are overweight it costs a lot to buy healthy food!! Sorry for the long post!

fruit cups with the fruit juice, and not the syrup help, and I think the Dole ones are really good.

I do from time to time. It really depends on your level of desperation to drop pounds. I even eat frozen fruit. Hit it with an artificial sweetener. I’m gonna cuss now but I use Splenda. Sorry I cussed! Lol However if you taste fruit canned in sugar vs sugar free canned fruit you will see the difference. Canned fruit companies want your $$$$$ so they fill it with sugar. I visited a relative up there in Westland last year and she dropped weight like a freight train however eats very little fruit that I saw. A bag of popcorn for lunch or a quarter of a bowl of the lobster bisque at the red lobster saving the rest for 2 dinners at home. We are concerned as family. U could try pouring the juice of the fruit down the sink......just sayin

I use the frozen fruit with my overnight oats...maybe I should try the frozen fruit to eat with my lunch every day lol. I try to eat fruit and veggies at every meal so 20grams of sugar holy chit! Lol thanks!!

I use frozen fruit if I can't get fresh. fiber content is higher than canned I think. and fresh apples, bananas, and oranges and grapes from the grocery are usually available reasonably priced.

I bought peaches in water by Dole, not bad. Prefer fresh fruit though

I use frozen but I also use peaches in jars and Mandarin oranges packed in water. Not sure of brands but just whatever has just fruit and in the ingredients. Fruit has natural sugars so a high fiber fruit like berries might have fewer net carbs.

I keep generic cups of fruit like mandarin oranges and peaches in fruit juice at my desk as well as some dried apricots but rather than eating them as a serving of fruit, I consider them an alternative to candy just because of the naturally occurring sugar content.

I buy Del Monte , they have regular and 100 calorie fruit. I keep a few cans on hand in case I want sweet's.

I get the Polar brand - it isn't all sugar free - some of their options are better. I just plan accordingly that the little jar is two servings. I really prefer fresh frozen fruit. I wish you all the best on your adventure.

I think I got canned fruit under control lol between dole and del monte little cups of fruit with no sugar added only 5grams of sugar. So I think that will help. Also fresh peaches and apples were looking good today so I got a few of those. Thanks all!!!

I eat very little fruit to begin with. But when I do I prefer fresh. We do keep some canned fruit in the house but no matter what it's canned with (water, juice, sugar, or syrup) we always drain it first. My husband likes cottage cheese with canned fruit. I personally prefer berries, fresh or frozen, as my favorite fruits. I eat it straight, no cottage cheese for me.

I love fruit!! However the canned fruit I was eating had a lot of sugar regardless of draining the juice out lol. So I had to rethink of how to get fruit in my diet. Plus Michigan fresh fruits and veggies isn’t always great so a lot canned or frozen for both :)
