Multiplicity1's Journal, 27 Apr 10

Today was my weigh-in day. This morning I weighed exactly 225.4 again for about the fourth or fifth day in a row not one tenth of an ounce up or down. But I did lose 3.4 lbs. this week which is great! My weight loss may slow down or stop for a bit since I have lost 9.6 lbs. in 3 weeks but I will see how it goes. Yesterday I tried blueberries (1/8c.)They were frozen and I didn't really like them so today I didn't have more instead I am trying cottage cheese. I didn't have any reaction to the blueberries as far as I could tell but I will try them again later. Now I will try cottage cheese for a couple more times this week. I may try peanut butter next - I bought some already. Or I may try the whole milk yogurt. If my weight doesn't move after another week at 25 carbs I will try lowering my carbs again to see if that works.
I went to a friend's house today and she served me grapes and instead of telling her I couldn't eat them I felt obligated and I ate about 8 of them. I didn't even enjoy them. I don't know why I didn't just tell her I couldn't eat them. And my husband felt obligated and he ate them too so we both ate something we didn't want to. I need to learn from this to speak up for myself and not to be more concerned w/other people's feelings than my health. I have been pretty hungry this afternoon so I think it triggered me too. Today I am a food addict who is active in her addiction.
My husband cooked a great recipe off www.genaw.com/lowcarb/index.html called Taco Skillet. Unfortunately when he added the coleslaw mix or cabbage it had carrot pieces in it which I we are not supposed to be eating and I didn't realize it until I had eaten most of my food which I then finished. This has been a bad food day for me. If I have cravings I won't know if it's from the grapes, the cottage cheese or the carrots. I've got to do so much better than this if I want to keep losing weight and keeping it off. Small mistakes but they matter.

I think I know how you feel, although I'm not on Atkins. But I think we all have trigger foods. You've lost a lot of weight pretty quickly, so don't let a few days of the scale not budging get you down. Your body has to adjust to weight loss, get used to a weight and then it seems to drop a bit more. Well...it should, anyway. : ) Hopefully I'll get some answers Thursday for myself. But YOU are doing great! Just keep doing what you're doing. And yeah, it's hard to speak up for yourself sometimes, but if she's a friend, she would have understood. Or should have.

I agree with redwinelover that friends and family will support you if you let them know there are some things you just arent eating at this time. You are doing great and have lost weight so you may sit for a bit and then away you go again. You are doing great Andrea..it will come. :)

You are doing awesome, Andrea. We all make small errors. This is a learning curve, and there will be small slips from time to time. As for the weight loss, that happens to me also. It'll start up again. :D

3.4 pounds is fantastic, you are doing an excellent job. Funny, it's late here and to stave off hunger I just finished having 3/4 cup of lowfat cottage cheese. I like to chop up fruits and just place some cottage cheese on top, but didn't do that a moment ago. Keep up the great work Multiplicity and thanks for the comments on my journal.

Hi Andrea! How are you feeling today? Anything new and exciting in your life? I looked up that recipe and it looks good! Think I'll give it a try. I love cilantro! I remember years ago when I hated it, too. Now I can't imagine Mexican food without it. Hope you're having a great day!
