Low calorie day today due to major migraine. Couldn't eat until 3 pm - other than painkillers and coffee. So much stress on top of bad weather and pollen plus I think I was eating things I shouldn't have. Migraine is tough, because it is from a combination of factors, not just A-B or C that I can avoid.
So, too much pork, too many flowering trees, rain coming, and dryness with dust blowing around, probably also stress from upcoming commitments and from my daughter being very sad too = major migraine. Missed work, didn't call in until AFTER the big meeting started - my boss was ticked off! And he never gets ticked off.
Anyway, I am looking forward to working at night. I am a construction inspector in a big city - since we are working on a contract to repave some major roads (airport access roads!) I am out "in the field" at night due to traffic control considerations. And by "field" I mean standing on the highway behind some steel drums and bright cones trusting that the state police will keep the traffic going slowly past us and not plowing into us at 60 miles an hour! This stretch of the highway gets between 1000 and 2000 cars per hour - so there is a great need to do work at night when the volume is way down!
My hours will be 9 pm to 5 am. I plan to sleep during the day while my younger daughter is in school - and then continue that all summer and fall, into winter maybe until Christmas when the project is supposedly going to be over. I say supposedly because once it starts snowing again, we suspend work until May 2011! Funny to have to think ahead like that but we do.
I am hoping that I'll be able to plan ahead for what I am eating and when - keep on a good schedule. My first day of work will by Sunday night to Monday morning. I guess I haven't really thought about it except to just keep answering "I think it will work out" when people ask me how that will be to work nights! Apparently many people do it - also, the boss isn't on the same schedule so it's unlikely he will be stopping by my job to see what is going on.
Also, tonight daughter is home for dinner unexpectedly since my ex-to-be "forgot" to tell her that he was playing golf tonight (start of the company league!) and essentially every Tuesday all summer. Tsk.
And daughter got her Home Ec baby yesterday - the one who cries randomly all day and all night! Stupid plastic baby cried at 11pm, 1 pm, 4 pm, 5 pm, and 6 pm - worse than a real baby!
Hope you all had a WAY better day than mine!
