I need some info. I do various types of home improvements and yesterday I did roofing for 5 hours during the hot part of the day here in FL and need to calculate my calories. I carried heavy material and was up and down a ladder the entire time. I classified it as strenuous. One website had 2 figures and went with 730 cal per hour. Any ideas?

Might be a little high but if you are not trying to replace/eat all the calories it should be fine.

I hit the wasabi peas pretty hard last night. Didn’t lose weight but didn’t gain either, I love those little jokers!

@Genedougherty these are if you continually were doing the activity for the full hour. According to the dr., nutritionist, and person at the wellness center people tend to overestimate calories burned and underestimate calories consumed. Personally I would consider it like 300/400 calories burned in an hour and eat until you feel almost full or a little hungry still. 700 sounds a little high but could be if you were moving the entire time and lifting carrying heavy things the whole time.

I like my fit bit to track how much I’m burning, my heart rate and activity. The reason the websites vary is because activity varies per person. Example: a regular person taking on a mail delivery route and someone who’s been doing it for years. The beginner burns a lot more calories due to heart rate and intensity and the experienced mail carrier has adapted his body so less sweat and heart rate.

I got 4 lbs to my 155 goal however gonna set a new goal of 145.
