Lorajean— this is also the first time I have seen your name and picture pop up.welcome —again. It looks like you have been struggling with this a while.. I think most of us know by now that FS is not a “perfect program” by any means. Please don’t think that you are being purposefully ignored. Hardly the case. Lots of people out here in the shadows. Join in the fun and see how everyone is making it on their individual hournies.

Nah, it was not FS that was imperfect but me. I just haven't followed through, got lazy and gave up. I'm very bad at staying motivated. BUT I keep starting over, with the intention that "this time will be different". It will....really.

It’s not motivation. It’s discipline. They are very different things. Discipline is doing it because that’s what you do even when it’s the last thing on earth you want to do. Exercise isn’t really part of the equation though. I really wish it was. Diet is 90% of it. Exercise is for physical fitness. Diet is for weight loss. Both require discipline. I have it for exercise, and I don’t have it for nutrition.

Yes, you can loose weight with diet alone but you also loose muscle mass which isn’t always an attractive look. Exercise builds muscle, creates energy and an increased sense of well being. And, it does increase calorie burn. Both diet and exercise is both discipline and habit.

I also just started over after being gone for a few years. I spent a lot of time before I started this time thinking about why I do the things I do. ask yourself why your eating the things your eating. try to be honest and non judgemental with the answers you find. write about why you are trying to change how you eat and exercise. remember that eating well and exercise are a celebration of what your body can do and not a punishment for eating junk.

Comics Yes. I've been thinking about my habits a lot too. One, it's just easier to remain still instead of GET up and GO. Two, I'm starting from an energy deficit so it's easy to tell myself I'm too tired (because I feel it). I just have to DO I, whether I like it or not.
Which means I need to get going RIGHT NOW since I joined a challenge that requires some walk/jog time. 😬
