Really still trying to get my numbers balanced.I'll get there.My fiber
isn't enough but my concerns there is the carb along with other foods.
I'm suppose to be eating 25-35 fiber per day(dr.orders).I know reading
the book over again it says not to sweat the nc if you are a few over or under.I'm doing total and want to keep it at 17,haven't gotten there yet.Should I figure hidden carbs for everything? I don't use package foods so I don't know how to do that wo a label or am I over
thinking this.You know me,I'm proabably doing just that.Veggies never
entered my mind with carbs but now it certainly does. I know most are
good but it sure blows my numbers.Here comes a question that will blow your minds and my dr.too.Do I really have to add that much veggies to the mix?I know it keeps you full,but so does the fat?Oh well,another
day another one to keep heading toward goal.This is high on my to do
list,just like you.And with all this figuring I'll get there along with the rest who are trying just as hard

We are all in the same boat, Mary Ellen, just trying to figure out what is best for our bodies. The veggies help add fiber to your diet, and if you take a fiber supplement, such as metamucil, that will help too. The veggies are important because of the roughage, the vitamins, and the fiber. If you want, you can contact the Atkins people at Atkins.com and they will be more than happy to answer any questions about how to get your fiber up, and why the vegetables are so important to your success. I am still tweaking this WOE to my bodies needs, also. Sometimes it leaves me scratching my head. W€hat worked last time, maybe isn't working so well this time. But I will get there, by and by. lol

Yes ctlss is right we need that fibre, if you find the veggies to much try the higher carb ones then you dont have to eat so much and also flax meal on veggies or salads help with the fibre but of course has carbs..those dam carbs they are everywhere. It just takes doing your menu over and over and then all of a sudden you look up and its perfect. I struggled for months trying to get the numbers right so don't get discourage Mary Ellen you will get it. have a great day :)

1st and foremost - you need to do what the Dr says. Can you do this with supplements? The good thing with fiber is that they will wash out quite a bit of your total carbs leaving you with less net ones (if that just made sense). Sorry, am running on caffeine and carbs right now. Whewhoo...... No, seriously, just start looking into the foods that have the higher fiber content and if you do go over by some, don't sweat it.
