Day 2. Cold chicken for breakfast, well it was there in the fridge and the dog needed to go out. Lunch: pork fillet and mushrooms in butter with water cress, spinach and rocket salad. Dinner: same salad with 2 hard boiled eggs and parma ham chopped into it and a little naughty - some walnuts for the crunch. Snack: 2 oz jarlsberg. Total carbs: 5.3g. Either my maths or wrong or I am going to have to eat a lot more to get to 15g a day of carbs. Even with the cheese it looks rather low in fat and high in protein. Much less hungry than when eating "sensible" bran flakes/whole grain toast/spuds etc. Let's hope it stays this easy and that the weight comes off. So far no ill effects.

Had a quick game of footie on the beach with the dog. Out of puff and over heated after 15 mins. Spent rest of day chasing estate agents/valuers/CCW/Roger to see if we can get this farm purchase through. If we can get that sorted I can have a few days walking before next case...

Well eggs are 0.6g carbs per egg, cooked spinach is 2.2g (steamed) for a 1/2 cup, cheese is roughly 1g net carbs per oz, mushrooms are up to 8.8g net carbs (cooked) depending on the type of mushroom. Ham, you have to check the package because some has 1-3g net carbs per serving. The walnuts are 0.9g for 2 T of walnut halves. I don't know what jarlsberg is but you should really invest in an Atkins carb gram counter. I got mine for $5 at the bookstore and it fits in my pocket. Don't force the fat issue, just don't avoid fat. You are doing great. Keep it up.

There is a carb counter at atkins.com.

Has anyone else noted discrepancies between the one in the back of the book, the Carb Gram Counter pocketbook and the website? I tend to go by my pocket book, but I see some values are slightly different.
