Has anyone ever been on a wheat free diet? The wieghtloss group I'm in has a few ladies that want to go on this, and I thought maybe I'd give it a go. I've done some research online, but I'd like to hear from someone that's actually tried it.

Hi, I cut out all grains wheat and gluten from my diet about 8 wks ago and from the day I did I stopped suffering from acid reflux and severe daily bloating!

I have been wheat/gluten free for almost 3 years. I do not have celiac, but the gluten free regimen gave me a lot of relief from arthritis, hot flashes, inflammation and depression. A gluten free diet makes it easier to loose weight and keep it off. It is hard giving up cake, cookies and bread, but Bob's Red Mill has some great products. Their chocolate chip cookie mix is amazing!

Hi Group,
Nice to see some new members already!
I think I will do some research on this too. I have two main things I would have to give up. Whole wheat low carb tortilla's & my atkins products. Not sure about the gluten in the Atkins bars but now I will have to check. I'm struggling with missing fruit, epecially in the summer when California has great oranges, peaches, cantaloupes & strawberries. While the peaches & strawberries on the low end of net carbs, I still haven't been able to get under 50 net carbs a day lately when I eat both 1 or 2 pieces of fruit & have a low carb whole wheat tortilla in the same day.

I'm on a completely wheat free diet since starting Akins...about 8 weeks now. I began to feel better within a few days. No more bloat, have lots of energy (more likely from ketosis), and no more snoring!
