Great that you know your body and can tell if changes need to happen. I'm thinking I may have to changes up some things too.

Just keep counting your calories and carrying on. Your body will catch up. If you are working out or exercising, remember muscle weighs more than fat and you can gain weight while thinning down.

Seems like a lot of people are in the same spot right now, including myself. I wonder if the change in seasons has anything to do with it. It would make sense our bodies wanting to hold on to more body fat with colder weather.

Mix it up bro and never forget, this is a marathon, a lifetime marathon, not a sprint.

I try to listen to my body, @mylahxandermom - it seems like it's whispering though (ha); the question, @DO_N_OK, is what change first, second... I agree @ApacheTiger37 - figure I got two weeks (or so) before decision time. Haven't thought of that, @ggreen67 - I mean, I don't wake up shivering or anything, but, yeah... @chesgreen - figured the Ole Coach would throw out a running metaphor (classy).

Stay focused and motivated...may be time to tweak some things...also, look at what you're doing now, maybe you've made changes without realizing it.

I hit plateaus here and there. Keep the faith. Anything more than a pound or a pound and a half a week is considered amazing.....

Keep doing what you're doing, your walks are becoming a better pace, meaning you're getting stronger and gaining endurance. Keep it up, it will pay off!

It's to be expected as you've lost more. I've lost 170 lbs and now it's 12/month instead of 20. But I won't give up. A goal is a goal and that's that.

As your body weight goes down you must also reduce calories even further because the calories consumed before has become maintenance calories for your new weight

True, @ScottH - I think that by walking more/faster I have measurements moving downward. Thanks @swilliamson813 - will remember that! @Ryan311 - thanks for the encouragement! @Jipper500, I didn't expect it THIS soon, though (oh well). @cleon2395 - I'm actually toying with the idea... we'll see shortly, I'm sure.

It doesn't have to be much try just 50 cal. less for a week or 2 and see if it helps

Are you still making progress, just at a slower rate?
03 Nov 17 by member: TomLong

Thanks, @cleon62395 - will adjust. Yes, @TomLong - last two weigh-ins have given me the thought that I am (indeed) slowing down. Thinking... I have been pretty good at logging food... but liquids? I may have my answer (drinking too many liquids, esp. at night).

I went talking to a specialist recently and she let me know the body is only supposed to lose a certain amount in a period of a time or it will naturally hit those plateaus to slow it down, it's a survival mode... maybe it needs a little "rest" before you have another bigger drop? Also the body drops weight differently during different seasons and moon phases as well. So I say be proud you're still dropping and not doing the yo-yo like me 😩

@Mamamc7 - good to hear that, I will continue on and see when I hit a (true) plateau. Right now... I'm thinking I'm approaching my first one. When (not if) I stall, I will (more than likely) want to cut back on my walking (lately, it's almost been daily) a little. Appreciate you!

It may have slowed, but you are still going in the right direction.

A friend of ours suggested that everybody is getting hungrier/ heavier now because a rough winter is heading our way. Like the woolly worms getting woollier. My advice: learn from my recent mistake. Be patient and stick with a plan that is still working, even if not following your desired timeline. You've done great so far and that kind of progress is not likely to suddenly stop. More likely the process is taking a short break like mamamc7 suggested. Give it a little time. I wish I had.

1.8# a week sounds good to me. Your consistency is awesome. Remember the turtle and the hare. You aren't going as slow as the turtle or as fast as the hare but you will get to your goal and stay there step by step, pound by pound just the same. Weight loss isn't microwaveable, its slow cooker and so much better that way.
